Kathy has spent her accounting career working as an entrepreneur and being a leader in the business community.  As managing partner of Martin, DeCruze & Company, Kathy provides consulting and accounting services to a diverse group of business owners and individuals.  She consults on a variety of topics including strategic tax planning, multi-state taxation, retirement planning, and business systems.   

Kathy ‘s involvement in the business community gives her the expertise and resources to facilitate and resolve all types of client challenges, from business and personal bank financing, estate planning, technology investment, and complex business formation, acquisition, and merger issues.   She is an active member of the Growth Network of the Business Council of Fairfield County, the Association for Corporate Growth - Connecticut Chapter, and the Stamford CEO Roundtable.  Professionally, Kathy is an active member of the Connecticut and New York State Societies of CPAs and the AICPA.   Kathy also likes to volunteer her time to serve on local non-profit boards such as Literacy Volunteers of Stamford/ Greenwich, Inc.  And, Kathy has been an instructor for several civic organizations and an adjunct accounting professor at a local college. 

Kathy’s current clientele reside in over 15 states, do business or maintain offices in over 35 states and include a variety of businesses in areas such as private equity, law, real estate, financial investment, manufacturing, software and technology.

Graduating from West Virginia University in 1979, Kathy first started her career at KPMG in Stamford (formerly Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.), before starting her own accounting firm in 1984.  In 2001, Kathy and Diane Martin joined together to form Martin, DeCruze & Company.
